We are currently seeking a Finance Assistant to join our team in Blackburn. In this exciting new role you will be will providing crucial support to the Business Partner and Finance Officer by ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial information. This includes preparing management accounts, financial statements, KPIs, and performance analysis. The role also involves completing regular reconciliations, such as bank and payroll reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance. In addition, the Finance Assistant will assist with general administrative tasks within the finance team to support efficient operations and maintain a smooth workflow.
Requirements
Outline of key responsibilities for the Finance Assistant…
- Assist the Business Partner and Finance Officer in the production of information required for monthly management accounts, financial statements and the annual budget.
- Assist in the provision of the information required for the consolidation of the group’s financial statements.
- Provide supporting schedules as part of the external audit.
- Reconcile the company’s bank accounts for which you are responsible, on a monthly basis
- Reconcile key income and expenditure and balance sheet accounts for which you are responsible, on a monthly basis.
- Undertake analysis and interrogation of accounts in order to support the Business Partners in providing more meaningful information on reports with guidance of the finance officer.
- Assist the Business Partner in providing Functional Heads, Heads of Service, and budget holders with financial information.
- Utilise the finance system effectively and ensure that all processes and procedures are consistent with the group approach
- Assist the Business Partner and Finance Officer in the completion of management accounts monthly for THA and other Group Companies.
We are looking for someone who has…
- Proven experience of working in a finance / accounts environment. (desirable)
- Ability to operate computerised financial accounting systems. (desirable)
- Ability to work under pressure.
- To have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook
- Literacy and numeracy sufficient to meet the demands of the post
