The Role:
We are looking for a skilled and visionary Head Chef to join our team and take charge of the kitchen as we prepare to launch this exciting new venture. As the Head Chef, you will play a key role in the development of our kitchen, from menu creation and equipment purchasing to designing the kitchen layout and staffing. Your expertise in smoking and BBQ cooking will be central to shaping our offering and ensuring we deliver top-notch dishes to our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation and development of a BBQ-focused menu, blending Southern US BBQ flavors with British pub classics.
- Design and implement the kitchen layout to optimize workflow and efficiency.
- Oversee the purchasing and installation of all kitchen equipment to ensure the kitchen meets operational needs.
- Manage all kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation, presentation, and consistency.
- Train, develop, and manage kitchen staff, ensuring smooth service during busy periods and fostering a positive team environment.
- Work closely with front-of-house teams to ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction.
- Manage inventory, stock ordering, and rotation, with a focus on reducing waste and maintaining high-quality ingredients.
- Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Contribute to the long-term growth of the business, helping with the development of new menu items, and assisting with staffing needs.
What We 're Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef, with a strong background in smoking and BBQ cooking.
- A deep understanding and passion for BBQ techniques, especially Southern US-style smoking and grilling.
- Experience in menu development, kitchen design, and equipment selection.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and manage a kitchen team.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
- A creative and entrepreneurial mindset, with a desire to be part of a growing, independent business.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and lead by example.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
