The Role

This position is based at our Malton site within the Planning Department and focuses on coordinating and planning all raw materials and production activities. The role involves ensuring that customer requirements are met while maximizing the efficient use of machinery, raw materials, and labour.

Key responsibilities include creating accurate stock requirements and detailed plans for labour, machinery, and working hours. The role requires close collaboration with production teams, other planning departments, costing, and technical staff, as well as proactively identifying and communicating potential issues.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week

Key Accountabilities

• Work as part of a unified team, driving increased planning accuracy and stock control.
• Receive customer orders from forecasting systems, Sales Managers and the Trading Department
• Update daily plans to reflect orders and requirements, ensuring the correct specification of product is available for the forecasted production
• Ensure provision of detailed production plans for all designated departments
• Analyse actual versus plan on a daily and weekly basis and report on adherence to plan
• Explore, develop and implement the most efficient and cost effective methods of producing products from the site.
• To explore, develop and implement best practices, identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous performance improvement across all areas of responsibility.
• Utilise standard operating procedures for the planning team and identify improvements where appropriate
• Ensure the accuracy of stock reports
• Immediate communication and escalation of potential problems to minimise potential errors
• Effectively communicates relevant information to all business levels and confronts issues openly and quickly
