We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our growing field sales team!

As a Business Development Manager at Monarch, you will take the lead in expanding our market presence and fostering relationships with clients in the water treatment and management industry. Your primary responsibility will be to identify and secure new business opportunities while nurturing existing accounts. You will work collaboratively with our internal teams to provide exceptional service and ensure that Monarch’s innovative solutions are at the forefront of the industry.

Your role will involve conducting market research, developing strategic plans, and delivering engaging presentations to M&E, FM, maintenance, fit-out contractors, and specialised distribution channels such as catering and key merchant customers.

A major part of your focus will be on identifying and overcoming competitive specifications.

The successful candidate will be based in the Oxfordshire / Buckinghamshire / Berkshire area.

Main Duties:

  • To deliver product presentations and CPD to specifier Stakeholders.
  • To develop and organically grow direct and in-direct business with key installers and larger M&E contractors.
  • To effectively gather and feedback to the business, new and emerging technology and opportunities to target new business growth, attending trade shows and intercompany events as required by the company.
  • To work with Monarch Water and Calmag internal sales colleagues in establishing and growing specification sales within the company’s new and existing accounts.
  • To be commercially aware and focused in delivering the company’s targets for new and existing business as defined by your prescribed company targets.
  • To develop sales strategies that can be deployed against our competitors to secure new business
  • To follow up on sales leads within 24 hours of issue and follow up on quotations in a timely manner, providing feedback on won or lost opportunities.
  • To provide periodic reports as requested on sales activities, identifying opportunities, challenges and plan sales activities accordingly to ensure adequate market coverage
  • To update and maintain accurate customer account records using the defined company IT systems.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in business development or sales, preferably in the water treatment or related industries.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, including M&E contractors, distributors, and end-users.
  • Driven self-starter with a passion for achieving targets and driving growth.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Proficient in using CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to analyze market data and trends to inform decision-making.
  • Ability to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.

Ideal candidates will have a background in the water treatment industry and a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of our product offerings.
