Our client is looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor based in Llanelli.
Job Summary:
The Managing Quantity Surveyor will work alongside the Commercial Manager, responsible for managing the commercial team. They will provide direction and support to the wider commercial team ensuring delivery of best value whilst maintaining strict adherence to company procedures and contractual requirements.
Main Duties:
- Provide senior level support to the commercial management of projects and the Commercial team by providing day-to-day guidance and mentorship and contractual advice to the team.
- Oversee subcontractor management.
- Lead on the preparation of bids, tenders and proposals, reviewing and advising on contract terms, pricing, and cost risk on tender, ensuring commercial viability of bids.
- Overseeing the cost planning, control and budget forecasting on all projects ensuring profitability.
- Building and managing strong relationships with clients, contractors and other key stakeholders, acting as the primary contact.
- Management of subcontractors including managing and controlling changes, allocating work, valuing and processing payments, monitoring subcontractor delivery and performance and assessing and agreeing variations.
- Adopt and promote a safety-first culture, ensuring all work carried out by yourself and others complies with company standards and legislative health, safety and environmental requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum qualification of a degree in Quantity Surveying.
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor with recognised contractors.
- Strong technical understanding of the construction industry, including the processes, materials and methods.
- Proficient in IT.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
The salary is up to £75,000 depending on experience.
37.5 per week, 8.30am to 5.00pm.
