About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and versatile Events Assistant to join the Communications & Events team at Reuben College, one of the University of Oxford’s newest graduate colleges, established in 2019. Located at the heart of Oxford, adjacent to the Museum of Natural History, the College occupies a beautifully refurbished historic building and has rapidly expanded its events portfolio. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support both internal and client events, contributing to a growing programme. Working closely with the Communications and Events Manager and team, you will assist with all aspects of event planning, coordination, and delivery, ensuring high-quality experiences for attendees. The role requires flexibility, including availability for approximately 1-2 evening events per week and occasional weekend events.
About You
You will be an organised and adaptable individual, educated to A-level standard or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills gained through relevant professional experience, such as administration or events coordination. You will have experience in planning and coordinating events, conferences, courses, or training programmes, along with strong administrative skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
You will have good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with a range of stakeholders. Attention to detail and accuracy will be essential, as will the ability to work independently, proactively, and under pressure to meet deadlines. You will be a flexible team player who can prioritise conflicting demands. Proficiency in using email packages, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant online applications is essential.
Desirable qualities include experience working in a large organisation or higher education environment, familiarity with communications activities (both print and digital), and experience using AV equipment and website content management systems.

This role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis. While primarily office-based, there is the possibility of working from home one day a week.
