We are looking for an Events Assistant to join our team. This role blends event coordination with a emphasis on sales and business development. As an Events Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the planning and execution of events, while also helping to drive new business opportunities. You will be integral to maintaining and building client relationships, assisting with lead generation, and supporting the sales team to convert opportunities into successful events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Support: Assist the sales team in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the tech and non-profit sectors. Help create and refine sales presentations, proposals, and contracts.
  • Client Liaison: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and identifying opportunities to upsell additional services or products.
  • Lead Generation: Proactively research and generate leads for new events. Assist in the follow-up and qualification of inbound sales inquiries to create a strong pipeline of potential clients.
  • Event Coordination: Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of client events, from initial concept through to on-the-day delivery, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience.
  • Proposal Development: Support the creation of tailored event proposals for potential clients, ensuring all aspects of the event are outlined and aligned with client needs and objectives.
  • Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate sales data, track progress of leads, and contribute to regular sales reporting to monitor performance and identify trends.
  • On-site Event Support: Attend events to provide on-the-ground assistance, ensuring everything runs smoothly, from client registration to managing event logistics.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Sales Experience: Previous experience in a sales-focused environment, ideally within events, hospitality, or a related field. A track record of successfully driving sales and building client relationships is a must.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage clients and prospects.
  • Organisation: Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Sales-Driven Mindset: A proactive approach to generating new business and identifying opportunities to expand client relationships.
  • Technology Proficiency: Experience using event management software, CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Negotiation Skills: Comfortable in negotiating contracts and pricing with clients to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Team Player: A collaborative approach to working within a team, with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing changes and challenges effectively.
