The role
As a Training and Development Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Providing both strategic and operational support on all day-to-day Training Development matters.

Day-to-day, you’ll work side by side with the business providing a service, enhancing delivery outcomes, and driving continuous educational improvement.

  • Strategic alignment of Training Development and business operations with Contract Directors (and other key stakeholders).
  • Manage the delivery of accredited and non-accredited programmes for staff (and where applicable Authority personnel) across the Training business unit, including AET, CET, CAVA, IQA qualifications.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of a competency framework (mapped to the Babcock Role Framework) and associated learning and development strategy to address the needs of the contracts across the business unit.
  • Provide support to delivery teams on how best to support learners / students.
  • Effectively manage staff including, recruitment, development, and performance management to maintain a professional team of industry specialists to meet current and planned delivery requirements.

Please note that this position involves travel/working across a range of internal and customer sites, as a requirement of the role.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements

Essential experience of the Training and Development Manager

  • Extensive education / training quality experience.
  • An understanding of the Education Inspection Framework.
  • Detailed understanding of the apprenticeship environment and provision of commercial training.
  • Understanding DSAT & JSP822

Qualifications for the Training and Development Manage r

  • Teaching / Training related qualification
    L2 English and maths or equivalent
