Are you ready to play a vital role in the transformation of rail infrastructure? We are looking for a motivated Engineering TRU Facilities Plant Team Member to join our dynamic Engineering team.
This is an exciting opportunity to support the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) , from mobilisation to maintenance, you’ll help ensure our infrastructure, buildings, and equipment meet the highest operational and safety standards.
Can you see yourself?
- Collaborating with Teams/Contractors: Working alongside the Facilities Plant Team Leader to mobilise, test, and commission new engineering facilities. Liaise with 3rd-party contractors and monitor performance and quality of services.
- Owning Handover Success: Play a key role in handovers for new facilities, reviewing manuals, schematics, and snagging tasks.
- Keeping Operations on Track: Maintain and repair essential equipment, infrastructure, and utilities to ensure smooth operations.
- Planning ahead: Develop planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and quality inspections.
- Carrying Out Maintenance and Repairs: Performing mechanical and electrical maintenance, inspections, and repairs on plant equipment while ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Managing Resources: Manage materials and specialised consumables, ensuring supplies are replenished.
Are You?
- Technically Skilled? With engineering qualifications to NVQ level 3 in Engineering, with experience in mechanical, electrical, and building principles. With the added ability to work on 415V electrical systems.
- Technically Knowledgeable? Can you read and interpret schematics and technical instructions.
- Calm Under Pressure? Works well independently, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Experienced in the Rail Industry? Qualified or able to qualify in Personal Track Safety, Legionella, Asbestos and Fire Awareness.
- Competent? With tools, machinery, and asset management systems (desirable).
- Safety Champion? Can you effectively escalate risks, take accountability for actions, collaborate with teams, and deliver to high safety standards.
- Further Training? IOSH/NEBOSH qualifications desirable.
Please note this role is safety critical and is subject to Rail Safety & Standards Board (RSSB) regulations. You MUST meet the safety critical criteria for this position, or your application will be automatically rejected.
