The Role
UK Leading fencing contractor is looking to recruit a Junior Structural Engineer / CAD Designer to join a leading fencing and barriers contractor during an exciting time of growth and development. The role would include being responsible for the planning, development, design, and manufacture of general structural/ civil projects with an emphasis on fences gates and barriers. To manage engineering or design projects and liaise with clients to achieve the best results.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop skills to complete structural calculations and designs for a variety of structures both permanent and temporary. With an emphasis on fences gates and barriers. Supported by the lead design engineer.
- To produce high quality CAD designs/drawings for all our departments within the Battle office in an efficient and professional manner.
- Learn to and be capable of producing 3D models and renders for selected large projects.
- You will need to work as part of a team and liaise with project managers and others to achieve the best designs and give added value to ensure that Littlewood remain at the forefront of their industry.
- You will be responsible for ensuring the numbering and filing of all drawings and the PDF’s that are issued to the client, maintaining a directory structure within the Littlewood network to help us be BIM compliant.
- In addition, the role will be to continue to enhance the way that information is presented and issued to clients.
- Other general engineering activities depending on the project
Qualifications and Experience: Necessary:
- An engineering qualification (HND, BSC) in a relevant discipline (Civil, Structural, Mechanical or similar).
- Ability to or willingness to learn to independently complete engineering calculations and review engineering standards.
- Be literate in or willing to learn AutoCAD and able to produce basic 2D drawings.
- Preferable but not essential, to have some experience in 3D modelling and renders using any/all the Autodesk software listed. (AutoCAD, Fusion 360, Revit, Inventor or 3DS max).
- Ability to effectively communicate with and relate to office staff, operatives and outside suppliers at all levels.
- Must demonstrate strong numeracy skills and be proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong multitasking skills and the ability to prioritise and be organised.
- An engaging, motivated, enthusiastic, and pleasant personality with a professional demeanour
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
