Automation Engineer

Location: Bridgnorth

Hours: 46 hours per week. Night shift, Monday to Thursday (18:00 - 06:00)

Salary: Up to £56k inclusive of shift allowance. Dependent on experience

About the role:

We’re looking for an Automation Engineer to play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of engineering projects. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious engineer looking to make a real impact within a growing and collaborative team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Drive the maintenance and improvement of automated production cells
  • Build and lead technical understanding of equipment to develop the team’s technical knowledge and expertise to support problem solving & fault-finding capabilities
  • Modernise PLC platforms and integrated control systems
  • Integrate technology within new and existing systems
  • Be a subject matter expert for equipment and processes

Who we’re looking for:

You’ll have existing experience of reactive and ppm maintenance of PLC systems with the ability to read, interoperate and write PLC code in various languages

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience with Automation cells and semi-automated equipment including robotics
  • Comprehensive knowledge of production / manufacturing techniques
  • Experience working in a mid to high volume manufacturing environment
  • Ability to travel to site
