Jubilee Daycare is looking for Kitchen Assistant to join our team on a permanent basis. You will join a fantastic and caring team who put the children in our care first and support one another.

An annual salary of up to £ 26,000.00 is available for the position dependant on hours worked per week, experience and skills.

The hours of the role are your choice of either 9.00am to 5.00pm or 9.30am to 5.30pm, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Purpose and responsibilities of the role:

  • Working in partnership with the nursery Chef to support the preparation of age appropriate food to high standards
  • Contributing to keeping the kitchen a clean and safe environment
  • Ensuring that all of the children’s nutritional needs are met safely, working closely with the nursery team to deliver upon dietary requirements.
  • In the absence of the Chef, being responsible for the running of the kitchen.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • To make sure all dietary requirements are catered for, delivered and clearly communicated to the teams
  • Keep the kitchen environment clean and safe adhering to internal and external requirements
  • Support in the preparation and cooking of age appropriate food for all the children at the setting
  • To take reasonable care of yourself and others by complying with company Health and Safety guidelines
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach using your initiative, the ability to take on responsibilities with a can do attitude.
  • In the absence of the Chef, be responsible for the safe running of the kitchen
  • Washing up following mealtimes and other domestic duties as and when required.

Essential Experience:

  • Able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of managing different dietary requirement around food allergies
  • Remote location, requires ability to drive

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in a role cooking for young children
  • Food Safety CIEH L2 or equivalent
