Full Time, Permanent, 45-Hours PW

Base Salary of £ 38,000 Basic + Tronc (Circa £ 4,000) + Up to 30% of Salary Bonus
Total earning of £ 46,000

At The Raven, we pride ourselves on offering exceptional cask ales, craft beers, delicious food, and a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Our menu combines high-quality ingredients with a modern take on classic pub favourites. We focus on burgers, smoked meats, and sharing plates. We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and ensure the continued success of our vibrant venue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the kitchen team, ensuring smooth operation throughout service.
  • Develop, plan, and execute a high-quality, seasonal menu.
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet the highest standards of quality.
  • Maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Ensure stock control, ordering, and kitchen inventory management, minimising waste and ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff, creating a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Work closely with the management team to ensure menu offerings complement our drinks selection and guest experience.
  • Monitor kitchen costs and budget, ensuring profitability without compromising on quality.
  • Adapt the menu to reflect customer feedback, seasonal changes, and emerging food trends.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a senior kitchen role, preferably within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • A passion for food, with an eye for detail and creativity in menu development.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to manage stock levels, ordering, and kitchen budgets efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with front-of-house staff.
