Salary: A competitive salary from £39,120 – £58,680 depending on the experience you can bring

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Data Analyst to join our team on a permanent basis in Edinburgh.

As a Senior Data Analyst within the Aegon UK (AUK) Transformation team, you will support the department with data and analytics, providing clear, accurate, and timely performance insights. The role involves transforming data into actionable intelligence to guide business decisions, highlighting opportunities, risks, and proposing solutions.

You will be one of the Aegon UK lead subject matter expert on portfolio tooling (ServiceNow, JIRA and others), driving strategy development and implementation ensuring that solutions are aligned to AUK and Global strategic direction.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Improve the insight delivered to AUK transformation and beyond. Develop reports that will create a logical framework for problem-solving. Design MI that meets organisational needs using conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

  • Contribute (with direction) towards the implementation of an MI strategy for AUK Transformation.

  • Develop new and innovative MI solutions that meet department and executive requirements. Create presentations, charts, tables and graphs using the design principles. Create analytical solutions to understand business strategy. Develop and manage internal project plans, test designs, sampling and other documents.

  • Help to solve various problems that AUK Transformation are facing in any of the work functions. Assist in the automation of tasks within the team as well as throughout AUK Transformation to lower the risk of error as well as providing an efficiency cost benefit.

  • Proven track record in a data analytics role, demonstrating successful outcomes in achieving key objectives.

  • Proficiency in technical languages and analytical tools, such as DAX, JQL and VBA.

  • Demonstrated ability to transform data into actionable insights.

  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and Power BI, including proficiency with DAX and Power Query.

  • Strong data analysis skills with exceptional problem-solving abilities.

  • Proven experience in delivering reports to stakeholders, meeting exact specifications within agreed timelines.

  • Experience in a continuous business improvement environment.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and build influential relationships with key stakeholders across multiple locations.

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex technical information for non-technical audiences.

  • Skilled in gathering business requirements and translating them into impactful insights.
