Summary of Role
The role will be situated full time on site (Manchester) delivering a large fit out & refurbishment package, involving strategic planning, resource management, and ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. As the Project Manager you will lead the project team, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements throughout the duration of the project.
Responsibilities
Project Planning and Management :
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Budget and Cost Control :
- Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimates, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Monitor project expenses and implement cost-saving measures.
Team Leadership :
- Lead and manage project teams, including site managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other staff.
- Assign tasks, set performance expectations, and provide guidance and support.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
Stakeholder Communication :
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain regular communication to provide project updates, address concerns, and ensure alignment.
- Facilitate meetings and presentations as required.
Quality Assurance and Control :
- Ensure all construction activities meet quality standards and project specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify compliance.
- Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
Risk Management :
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Respond to and resolve any issues or challenges that arise.
Regulatory Compliance and Safety :
- Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and building codes.
- Implement and enforce health and safety protocols in line with Amspec standards
- Facilitate safety inspections and address any safety concerns immediately with the site teams.
Documentation and Reporting :
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, reports, and records via our Project Management system Procore.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports to Amspec Senior Management team.
- Ensure all project documentation is completed in line with our operational standards.
Essential Requirements
SMSTS and / or at least NVQ L6 in Construction Site Management
Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management.
Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and best practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project).
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations and building codes.
