PPC Account Manager
at GumpoAbout the job
We’re looking for a talented PPC Account Manager to join our growing team in Macclesfield town centre.
We’re expanding our successful PPC department and are on the lookout for a driven individual to manage and grow existing PPC accounts, develop strategies for performance, and help scale client success through effective campaign execution, insight-driven optimisation, and relationship building.
About the Role
At Gumpo, we pride ourselves on delivering data-driven, high-impact PPC campaigns. As a full-service digital marketing agency, we’re seeking a proactive and strategic PPC Account Manager who will play a central role in shaping client strategies, managing paid search accounts, and identifying growth opportunities.
You’ll be a key part of a small but effective digital team, overseeing accounts across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads and other paid media platforms, driving conversions, and delivering strong ROI for a variety of clients across different sectors.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a broader team of digital specialists across Paid Social, SEO, and Web. You’ll gain hands-on experience in how channels connect, collaborate on multi-channel campaigns, and contribute to joined-up digital strategies. We’re looking for someone curious, collaborative, and excited to learn from other departments - and to bring fresh ideas back into the PPC strategy.
Your Responsibilities
- Account Strategy & Execution: Architect, manage, and optimise PPC campaigns across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and other platforms, aligning with client business goals.
- Client Relationship Management: Act as the main point of contact for assigned clients, delivering strategic insights and regular performance updates to foster trust and long-term partnerships.
- Campaign Analysis & Optimisation: Monitor performance, identify areas for improvement, and continuously optimise accounts to increase conversions, ROI, and growth.
- Reporting & Insights: Create and present monthly and quarterly reports with actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Business Development Support: Work alongside the business development team on pitches, proposals, and upselling opportunities.
- Innovation & Trends: Stay up to date with the latest in PPC strategies, attribution models, Google Ads updates, and other tools to bring fresh thinking to campaigns.
- Supplier & Internal Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal team members and external partners, contributing to a collaborative, knowledge-sharing culture.
- Client Meetings & Reviews: Lead regular calls and in-person meetings with clients to review account performance, present ideas, and ensure alignment with their evolving business needs.
About You
We’re looking for a genuine team player who thrives on collaboration across departments and enjoys working closely with others to drive results. You’ll be self-motivated, positive, and confident taking initiative, with a commercially minded, results-driven approach. Strong communication skills are a must – clear, personable, and trustworthy. You should be adaptable, comfortable juggling multiple priorities, and able to stay focused and effective in a fast-paced environment.
Skills & Experience Required:
- 3+ years of experience managing PPC campaigns, ideally in an agency environment.
- Deep proficiency in Google Ads and Microsoft Ads.
- Strong knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Merchant Centre, and call tracking platforms (e.g. WhatConverts).
- Strong understanding of digital attribution and conversion tracking.
- Proven track record in driving ROI and improving PPC performance across lead-gen and e-commerce accounts.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insight.
- Excellent verbal and written communication - confident in presenting to clients and stakeholders.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proactive mindset with a desire to take ownership, innovate, and lead initiatives.
- Experience working with performance forecasts, budget planning, and digital strategy.
Bonus Skills
- Experience with product feed optimisation.
- Understanding of SEO & Paid Social to collaborate across departments.
- Familiarity with ecommerce platforms and lead generation tools.
Location
You’ll be based in our Macclesfield office – just 25 minutes by train from Manchester Piccadilly. This is an on-site role, ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively with a creative and driven team.
