Role Overview:
This is a senior leadership role requiring significant hands-on experience in residential construction. You will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will be a natural leader with a strategic mindset and excellent operational capabilities
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple residential construction projects (extensions, loft conversions, refurbishments) from inception to completion.
- Oversee and coordinate site managers, subcontractors, trades, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, proactively identifying risks and implementing solutions.
- Conduct regular site visits to review progress, quality control, health & safety compliance, and resolve any site issues.
- Implement and refine project management systems and operational processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects meet expectations.
- Negotiate supplier and subcontractor agreements to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
- Monitor labour, materials, and overheads to maximize profitability without compromising quality.
- Manage client relationships, ensuring satisfaction from project start to finish and handling variations or challenges professionally.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment.
- Support business development by identifying new opportunities, contributing to strategic planning, and representing the company in a professional capacity.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with a diverse background in various roles.
- Specific experience in extensions, loft conversions, and refurbishments
- Proven track record of managing residential projects from inception to completion.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to empower and inspire team members.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-centric approach to project management.
- Commitment to delivering quality workmanship and driving positive impact across all aspects of the business.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities, capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
