Salary: £25,514 (£29,500 pro rota)
Hours: 32 hours per week (Monday - Thursday 9.30am - 4pm & Friday 9.30am - 3.30pm)
Reports to: Operations Manager

+ Role Purpose

We are seeking a proactive and compassionate Project Manager to oversee the delivery of key projects, including rough sleeper outreach, female services, and youth projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project outcomes, line managing staff, and ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality services. This role will play a crucial part in shaping and enhancing the support we provide across North Devon and Torridge.

+ Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery : Working closely with the Operations manager you will support the delivery of projects, including rough sleeper outreach, female only services, and youth-focused programs, ensuring that all projects meet their objectives, timelines, and quality standards.

Staff Management : Line manage a team of project staff, including conducting regular case reviews, providing bi-monthly supervision, guidance, and support to ensure effective and efficient service delivery. To ensure that staff are supported in a compassionate way and feel part of a team which are making a difference.

Case Reviews : Oversee and participate in case reviews to monitor the progress of individuals supported by the projects, ensuring that interventions are appropriate, timely, and in line with best practices and are recorded on the necessary case management systems.

Project Outcomes : Support the Operations manager to monitor, evaluate, and report on project outcomes, using data to inform continuous improvement and ensure that the services delivered are impactful and aligned with the charity’s objects. You will also get involved in feeding into project reports and Encompass’s annual impact report.

Stakeholder Engagement : Support the Business Development Manager to collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including service users, partner organisations, and funders, to enhance service delivery and identify opportunities for growth and development.

Compliance and Reporting : Support the Operations Manager to ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, including safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection. Ensure that your team are completing the necessary reporting forms when required.

Budget Management : Assist Operations manager in managing project budgets, ensuring that resources are used effectively and that financial targets are met.

Strategic Development : Contribute to the strategic development of services, identifying areas for expansion and innovation to better meet the needs of the community.

Advocacy : Champion the voices of those experiencing multiple disadvantages, ensuring that their experiences inform service development and delivery.

+ Person Specification

  • Proven experience in project management, particularly in the voluntary, community, or public sector.
  • Experience working with vulnerable groups, including those experiencing homelessness, mental health issues, or other disadvantages.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in line management and staff supervision.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, and other relevant legislation and best practices.
  • Proficiency in using IT systems for case management and reporting.
  • A commitment to the values and ethos of Encompass Southwest, including a passion for supporting individuals experiencing multiple disadvantages.

Additional Information

  • The role involves travel across North Devon and Torridge; therefore, a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are essential.
  • You maybe required to support our out of hours service on an ad-hoc basis.
  • A DBS check will be required for this role.

Hours of work

This is a 32 hour per week post. The hours will be delivered between Monday - Friday, however on occasions there may be a requirement to work on a weekend or evening to support the DDAA night staff.

Overtime expectations

Overtime may be required at specific times. Overtime will be taken as TOIL unless authorised by the Chief Officer.

Work environment

The post will be located at our main office in Roundswell, Barnstaple. Home working may also be an option.

Travel requirements

Travel maybe required to attending meetings or events. Travel will be paid in accordance with the charities expenses policy.
