OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:

The Group Transformation and Integration Programme Manager will operate across all business areas and be focused on driving change through the adoption of agile working practices.

The postholder will work closely with operational teams, developing a balanced and meaningful transformation programme that faces into the competing demands for commercial agility and the need for change.

The postholder will also be responsible for integrating new businesses to the Group as part of our ambitious M&A programme. The person will simultaneously drive IT infrastructure upgrades and system renewal. Due to the nature of this role, the successful applicant will support up to Board level with group level initiatives, so confidentiality and discretion are key.

The role will provide governance and reporting on the status of change programmes across the Group identifying risks and issues and working with stakeholders to deliver to timescale and mitigate threats.

Due to the link to our M&A strategy, this role will also be a dotted line report to the Group CFO.

ABOUT THE ROLE: Programme Management -

  • Using your experience and coaching skills, you will support project owners/managers with guidance on how to deliver or realign to both budget and timescale where off track.
  • You are the gatekeeper for change and ensure that the group change report is kept updated down to project/programme level and that risks/issues identified and mitigated.
  • You drive a culture of value realisation from product launches through clear value slicing, MVP development and iteration.
  • You have the courage to call out opportunities along the way, accepting that change work is rarely linear.
  • You lead the communication process for change work across the organisation in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • All projects under your own portfolio are delivered to time and budget.
  • You keep your ear to the ground and actively looking to drive continuous improvement in processes, policies and technology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Tech Transformation and M &A

  • As owner of the technology transformation and integration roadmap for the entire group you ensure that all stakeholders are aligned to change, and that user experience is balanced with cost and operability
  • You own the migration from physical server infrastructure to a cloud-based proposition.
  • You are accountable for the creation and delivery of the software replatforming programme covering scheduling, CRM, HR, compliance, payroll and Finance systems.
  • You’ll be involved from pre-acquisition time to ensure that acquisitions are completed and integrated within Group SSC function including its technology solutions.
  • You are curious always looking for new ways to reduce cost through thoughtful market analysis and awareness of emerging technology
  • You’ll support the Board with group level initiatives to drive incremental benefit.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Clear and confident communicator who excels in simplifying complex topics to provide meaningful updates.
  • Commercially minded
  • Ability to manage budgets ensuring spend is always within tolerance
  • Ability to influence peers, leaders and non-direct reports
  • Ability to lead programme governance at group level
  • Experience of both agile and waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Experience of managing complex projects with competing demands through to successful completion
  • Project Management Qualification
  • Experience of leading IT based change work
  • Discretion and confidentiality

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience of security operations in a hospitality or retail environment
  • Advanced understanding of additional project management methodologies such as Scrum, Lean or Prince 2
  • APM Membership or similar
  • Experience of M&A projects
