Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and production, with a focus on delivering exceptional culinary experiences. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring food safety, and maintaining high standards of hospitality. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation and cooking.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring that all team members adhere to food safety regulations and quality standards.
- Help create and develop new menu items, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative cooking techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation and production within a professional kitchen setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- Proficient in various cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
