Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential care and support to individuals in various settings, including , day centre, community care both young people and adult and those requiring dementia care, mental health and complex care as well as young people with special needs. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, administering medication, and ensuring the comfort and safety of our clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and have the ability to handle physical demands such as heavy lifting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of client care and report any concerns to the nursing staff or management.
  • Support clients with dementia care by employing appropriate communication techniques and activities that promote engagement.
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment by following health and safety protocols.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to patient care.
  • Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a nursing home or similar setting is preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge of medication administration procedures is advantageous.
  • A background in nursing or healthcare is beneficial for understanding patient needs.
  • Ability to perform first aid when necessary and respond effectively in emergencies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
  • Physical capability to perform heavy lifting tasks associated with client support.
  • A valid driving licence is desirable for transporting clients when required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: £24,096.00-£25,569.00 per year

Expected hours: 18 - 37 per week
