Job Overview:
As a Learning and Development Manager - Travel Retail, you will be responsible for delivering high-impact training programs tailored to retail teams representing makeup, fragrance, and liquor brands in a travel retail environment. Your goal will be to empower staff with the product knowledge, customer service skills, and sales techniques needed to exceed performance expectations and create a memorable customer experience in diverse retail settings.

Key Responsibilities:

Training Program Development:

  • Design and develop customized training materials and programs to align with brand-specific guidelines and retail standards in makeup, fragrance, and liquor for travel retail environments.
  • Continuously update training content to reflect new product launches, promotions, and industry trends.

Training Delivery:

  • Conduct interactive and engaging training sessions for retail staff, ensuring they are equipped with product knowledge, selling techniques, and brand values.
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual training workshops, including role-playing exercises, demonstrations, and group discussions tailored to luxury retail.

Brand & Product Knowledge:

  • Provide in-depth training on product ingredients, benefits, and usage for makeup, fragrance, and liquor categories.
  • Share the brand’s heritage, vision, and ethos to ensure staff can communicate brand values effectively to customers in both retail and travel retail locations.

Sales & Customer Service Coaching:

  • Teach best practices for upselling, cross-selling, and building long-term customer relationships in a travel retail setting.
  • Emphasize the importance of delivering exceptional customer service that aligns with the luxury brand experience.

Event Support:

  • Attend promotional events or in-store activations locations to support on-the-ground training and ensure staff is fully equipped to represent the brand.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a trainer, preferably within the luxury retail sector (makeup, fragrance, liquor industries preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of makeup, fragrance, and/or liquor products and brands, with the ability to communicate this knowledge effectively.
  • Experience with travel retail environments is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
  • Ability to assess performance and offer constructive feedback.
  • Experience in sales and customer service, with a track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Comfort with both in-person and virtual training environments.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple training sessions and priorities.
  • Ability to travel as needed for in-person training sessions and events, including travel retail locations.
  • Fluency in English (additional languages a plus).

This role requires candidates to be 18 years of age or older due to the nature of the working environment.

Required:

  • You will be issued an Airside pass for airport access, which requires you to provide a complete 5-year history.
  • Criminal record check - Disclosure and Barring Service
  • If you have resided outside of the UK for six months or more in the past five years, you will be required to obtain a police clearance certificate from the respective country.
  • You must also possess a valid passport and have the legal right to work in the UK.
