We are thrilled to offer an IT Apprentice position at Bitterne Park School, where you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic educational environment. As an IT Apprentice, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our school’s IT infrastructure, supporting both staff and students in their technological needs. You will receive comprehensive training while working alongside experienced IT professionals who will guide your development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems and networks.
- Providing technical support to staff and students, resolving issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Helping to maintain the school’s IT inventory and record-keeping processes.
- Supporting ongoing IT projects and initiatives aimed at improving technological resources within the school.
- Assisting in the management of security and access permissions for users.
- Contributing to the documentation of IT processes and procedures.
- Staying informed about emerging technologies and best practices in IT support.
- Support in pre arranged out of hours support for events and IT project implementations

Band Grade 4-5: £23-26k per annum (based on 1 FTE) plus attractive benefits.

Requirements
- Strong interest in Information Technology and a desire to learn more about IT support and systems.
- Basic understanding of computer systems, networks, and software applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Previous experience or coursework in IT or related fields is a plus but not required.
