We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Finance Analyst to join our Finance team, providing vital insights to help drive strategic decision-making and business growth.

Role Overview

The Finance Analyst will be responsible for supporting the finance team with a range of activities, including weekly reporting, month-end processes, pricing and costing management, and the development of financial dashboards. This role requires strong analytical skills, an eye for detail, and proficiency in Excel, particularly in the creation and improvement of dashboards and reports.

Key Responsibilities

o Weekly Sales & KPI Reporting: Assist in the preparation and reporting of weekly KPIs, ensuring data accuracy and relevance to support business objectives.

o Preparation of IFS data loads: Preparation of pricing, costing, and budgetary data loads for input into the IFS system.

o Assistance with Tender Processes: Support the team in the tender process, including updating and modifying costing templates, and analysing costings against prior submissions to ensure accuracy and provide key insights into drivers for change.

o Support the Transition to IFS Cloud & upgrade of reporting tools: Assist with the transition to IFS Cloud, including tidying up existing data, ensuring accuracy, and re-coding data for compatibility with the new system.

o Development and Improvement Dashboards: Design and enhance Excel-based dashboards to track and report on key financial metrics, including sales volumes, margin, customer profitability, and inventory holdings. Support with the transition to BI reporting following upgrade to IFS Cloud.

o Month-End Reporting: Assist in the preparation of month-end reports, offering financial insights to aid in commercial decision-making.

o Consolidation of Monthly Sales Forecasts: Consolidate sales forecasts each month, providing variance analysis against previous forecasts to highlight performance discrepancies.

o Ad-Hoc Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present ad-hoc financial reports and analysis for Finance Business Partners, CFO and Senior Leadership Team, as required, to support various business decisions.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions and dashboard creation.
• Experience with financial reporting and analysis, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles
• Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., IFS) would be an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• A proactive, self-starter with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Interest in data analysis; basic knowledge of SQL (or similar) would be advantageous, although not a requirement for the role.

Qualifications/Skills:

• AAT qualification or studying towards CIMA/ACCA/ACA
• Previous experience in a finance role (particularly in manufacturing or FMCG) is desirable but not essential.
• Intermediate/advanced Excel functions (XLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables) Feel free to include any examples of tasks you’ve completed using these tools.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to £35,000.00 per year
