What is the role?

Join Southampton Football Club as an Infrastructure Engineer and play a key role in managing and optimising our IT infrastructure, including on premise, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services.

We’re looking for an innovative and proactive professional who can drive efficiencies within our IT department while ensuring the timely resolution of escalated incidents, service requests, and technical challenges.

You will be responsible for the daily operations, maintaining high standard of confidentiality, integrity and availability for all Business Services across Shared Services, Commercial and Football.

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for the maintenance and uptime of core IT infrastructure - physical servers and cloud based - essential IT Applications, including Active Directory, Group Policy, Certificate Services, Backups, and other cloud services.

You will oversee the administration of Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint. You will manage the deployment of software and applications while leading the build and deployment process for both new and existing devices. Additionally, you will oversee key supplier agreements and contracts to ensure the infrastructure receives the required levels of support.

A key part of this role involves driving innovation and automation to improve operational efficiencies, while also owning the underpinning technologies. You will contribute to and help implement the Technical Pipeline and Strategy, ensuring the club’s IT infrastructure remains robust and future ready.

Is this you?

  • Strong technical troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with decision making and project management.
  • Experience working with ITIL or similar framework.
  • Ability to manage problems and lead a team through major incidents.
