Overall Purpose of Job

The IT Support Technician plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Re-Gen’s IT infrastructure. The primary purpose of this role is to provide technical support to end-users, maintain hardware and software systems, and contribute to the overall efficiency and security of the IT environment. By addressing and resolving IT issues promptly, the IT Support Technician helps to minimise disruptions, enhance user productivity, and safeguard the integrity of the company’s data. This position is instrumental in supporting the technological needs of the organisation and ensuring that IT resources align with the broader objectives of the Re-Gen Group.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to IT support requests from end-users.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and other devices.
• Provide clear and effective instructions to users for issue resolution.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks on computer systems, including updates, patches, and configurations.
• Install, configure, and upgrade hardware and software components as required.
• Collaborate with the senior IT team to implement and manage IT projects.
• Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of network infrastructure.
• Support the setup and configuration of routers, switches, and other networking equipment.
• Monitor network performance and address connectivity issues promptly.
• Enforce and adhere to security protocols to safeguard company data.
• Assist in implementing security measures, including antivirus software and firewalls.
• Stay informed about potential security threats and contribute to proactive measures.
• Maintain accurate records of IT equipment, configurations, and user issues.
• Create and update documentation for IT procedures and protocols.
• Contribute to the development of a comprehensive knowledge base for troubleshooting.
• Actively engage in training sessions and learning opportunities
• Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in IT.
• To perform the job in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures
• To perform any other duties as may be reasonably required from time-to-time

Duration: Full Time Permanent position that may require working overtime during peak periods.

Location: Newry (Office Based)

Hours of work: 40 hours per week
