JOB PURPOSE
The function of the Program Manager is to provide business analytical guidance and strong governance support to the project management team of Newbuild projects.
The role is to give mission-driven project management assistance, supporting the project management team in their work through issue identification, analysis and communications. Consults with internal clients in various departments (shoreside and shipboard) and with External partners (shipyard, suppliers, technical and design consultancies) to independently gather, analyse and report data for recommended courses of action.
Projects assigned are typically top priority and multi-departmental initiatives for the organization and thus require continuous communication and interaction with the project management, onsite technical and design teams, shipyard, other internal and external partners. This role manages all aspects of project planning, tracking, and status reporting.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Coordinates and supports for project development, tracking/monitoring and reporting of several large size projects from inception to completion, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery of project outputs.
- Acts as project management’s analytical advisor through support in form of issue identification, objective analysis and communication of project areas and subsystems
- Adapts the work approach according to changing project priorities
- Conducts standardized, analytical and frequent reporting on newbuilding projects
- Identifies and proactively searches data sources, together with shipyard/ suppliers. Consults with Project Director of Newbuilding as well as Brand operations to ascertain and define need or problem to obtain data required for solution.
- Develops tools to help shipyard/ suppliers in forward-looking planning
- Tracks total remaining work and project progress against milestone plan
- Establishes, drives, and leads regular meetings between involved parties (attendees, agenda, and official minutes) and drafts communications of project status based on pre-defined templates.
- Analyses data to determine solution such as implementation of alternate methods and procedures or changes in processing methods and practices.
- Supports project teams in collection of quantitative/qualitative statistics, performs basic numerical analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)
- Fluent English written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem solving skills, strong analytical mindset and drive for solving complex challenges.
- Proven experience in a PMO role.
- Ability to learn quickly and understand technical systems.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and MS Project required. AutoCAD system considered as an advantage
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strength in communicating, collaborating, and influencing in a multicultural environment
- Excellent administrative, organizational, presentation and data visualization skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to travel in Europe when required
