Our client has an exciting opportunity to join its expanding project engineering team with the chance to work across a range of industry sectors providing cutting edge power solutions for their global customer base.

Our customer is a leading supplier of specialised diesel-driven, alternative, and sustainable power systems, equipment, and services to a wide range of industries including oil and gas, marine, renewables, mining, agricultural, and construction.

The Project Design Engineer is responsible for all mechanical job-related engineering design and technical disciplines.
You will schedule, plan, forecast, resource, and manage the technical design activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.

Description of Duties:

  • Prepare, plan, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering designs predominantly using Solidworks
  • Produce detailed technical work instructions, drawings, and designs.
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes DNV, CE, API, ATEX etc., , QA policies, performance standards and specifications
  • Interact with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field.
  • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status.
  • Assign responsibilities and mentor project team.
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager, fabrication department and other project participants to offer technical support.
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Procure materials as required
  • Ensure all QHSE rules are followed.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in an design engineering Role
  • HNC/HND or Equivalent Experience
  • Highly organised planning skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • High level experience in Solid works design
  • Strong technically. Able to prioritise workload
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good Customer and Supplier Communication
  • Must be flexible working on multiple jobs and meet deadlines.
