We are currently looking to recruit Full-time Time Chef/Cook for one of Dorset’s top six best Golf Clubs. This fantastic forward thinking private members golf club is situated on the outskirts of the historic town of Sherborne Dorset.
We are seeking a passionate, ambitious, customer focused candidates with an attention to detail, the ability to be flexible and work in an experienced and great team environment. You should be used to catering for at least 100 covers a day and larger private dining events.
You will be paid for 40 hours per week but your working weeks will approx 45 hours per week in the summer months ( April to October ) when our opening hours are extended and shorter weeks, approx 35 hours per week, in the winter months ( Nov to March ) . You will have the ability to create your own standard menu for breakfast and lunch service to be served to members and visitors on a daily basis. You will also get the opportunity to cater for bespoke one off events at the club to showcase your creativity further.
- With a very varied week the key to this role is flexibility as each week will vary dependent on the bookings we have for events and club matches. In the summer months you may need to work later to 9 p.m. to cater for events but in the winter months your days will generally be far shorter working on average from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. most days. It is very rare that we host events that run later than 9 p.m. over summer months so this role offers far more sociable hours than many other hospitality based roles.

Main Purpose of Job
To assist in providing a quality food service as required by Sherborne Golf Club. This will consist of table meals in the dining room and snacks for the bar areas.
Job Location
The clubhouse of Sherborne Golf Club and any other area designated by the club. (This might include areas such as tents or other items for special events).
Responsibilities
To provide a quality catering service as laid down by the Management Committee in conjunction with the Line and General Managers. To see that the service provided is of the required standard. You will assist in producing daily menus of food available both in the dining room and the bar areas within the guidelines set by the club. You will be responsible for another part-time chef who will assist you in catering for larger events throughout the year working approx 25 hours per week to support you.
Duties
Apart from preparing the food you will help preparing for ordering supplies. You will be responsible to see that the kitchen, food preparation and storage areas are kept clean and tidy and also see that the club cleaners keep the dining room clean, reporting any failures to the Line or General Manager.
Liaison
You must at all times liaise with the bar & catering manager and other clubhouse staff and with any club member designated by the committee to liaise with you. (This may be for social or other club events).
Conditions
You are responsible for seeing that you observe all hygiene and health & safety regulations with a particular emphasis on those concerned with the handling of food.
