Working as a Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for you will be responsible for washing, preparing, peeling, and chopping raw ingredients, making sauces and dressings, and operating kitchen equipment. You will unload and load supply deliveries, take a stock inventory, and organise supplies and consumables if required.

Main Duties:

• Washing utensils, pots, pans, and chopping boards
• Setting up the kitchen and preparing ingredients.
• Sanitising the food preparation areas
• Preparing ingredients, including washing and chopping
• Sweeping, mopping, and emptying rubbish bins
• Assisting the chef/cook and taking directions
• Cooking food as required including sauces and dressings
• Ensuring ingredients are fresh and in-date
• Complying with health and safety policies
• Adhere to existing working practices, methods and procedures. Undertake relevant training and development activities and respond positively to new and alternative systems.
• To undertake such training and development as may be required
• Take responsibility for the health and safety of oneself and others in the workplace, particularly in respect of:

o Accident reporting

o Lone working procedures

o Safeguarding procedures

• Kitchen hygiene
• Food preparation
• Use of kitchen equipment
• Risk management- ensuring you use chemicals in accordance with our COSHH policy.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £11.44 per hour
