Secondary School Teaching Assistant (SEMH / Alternative Provision)

Southport | Full-Time | Temporary & Permanent Roles Available

People Dynamix Education is recruiting on behalf of an amazing Independent Alternative Provision in Southport, Sefton, Merseyside. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant , ideally with experience of working with children with SEMH, to support pupils and teachers in creating a positive and engaging learning environment.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe learning space
  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
  • Assist in the development of learning resources and classroom organisation.
  • Work with small groups or individual pupils to provide targeted support.
  • Encourage and support the social and emotional development of children.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to enhance student outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3) or experience in a similar role.
  • An enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Experience working within a SEND / SEMH school setting.
  • A patient, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to supporting young learners.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
