This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Army Safety Group for two Higher Executive Officer positions within the Safety Organisational Learning (OL) and Army Reporting (SOLAR) pillar. These unique roles are responsible for the safety organisational Learning data management and trend analysis that will support the SOLAR Assistant Head with the creation, development and delivery of Army OL and ensuring the maintenance the OL sub-strategy as well as managing recommendations from Service Inquiries and Non-Statutory Inquiries.

As a Higher Executive Officer (HEO), you will play a crucial role in analysing and interpreting complex data sets to provide valuable insights to support strategic decision-making within the organisation. You will be responsible for collecting, organising, and analysing safety data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement. The successful candidates will need to demonstrate their ability to manage data across a number of platforms, work against tight deadlines, have excellent communication skills, both written and oral and have the ability to look at the bigger picture.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Lead in the identification of Army Safety OL themes and trends across all mediums available to reduce the likelihood of similar accidents in the future.
  • Provide management safety data to inform higher level safety meetings.
  • Communication of Army FP(S) OL outcomes through various mediums including MySafety, Post Activity Reports, Investigations and DAIB Deployment Reports (DR) etc.
  • Assist with the management of Army Safety OL activities and support the MySafety system. Supporting the Army Safety Environmental Management System Governance (ASEWG, AHSEC, AOLSG plus additional returns as required)
  • Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple sources.
  • Analyse large data sets using statistical techniques.
  • Interpret data and develop reports to present findings to stakeholders.
  • Identify trends and patterns to support decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with teams across the organisation to understand data requirements.Develop and maintain data models and databases.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and new technologies in data analysis

The successful candidates will need to demonstrate their ability to manage data across a number of platforms, work against tight deadlines, have excellent communication skills, both written and oral and have the ability to look at the bigger picture. You will need to deliver at pace against a backdrop of uncertainty and continual change.
