Job summary
The Welsh Governments Library Service provides information and research services to policy and legal teams based in multiple locations. The library collection comprises print and digital resources supporting the development of policy and legislation in Wales and includes the official publications archive. The Librarys print collection is held in Cardiff although many services such as training, literature searching and enquiries are provided remotely.
We are seeking a librarian to fill a permanent vacancy.
Youll be part of a team providing a high-quality fast-paced research service as well as other services to all Welsh Government staff.
Person specification
- Carry out literature searches working with our customers to define requirements and deliver information to support policy and legal teams within Welsh Government
- Catalogue digital and print publications, including the capture of publications for the Welsh Governments publications archive.
- Respond to customer enquiries.
- Provide training: information literacy, induction and the use of the internet & electronic resources (online database) training.
- Marketing & promotion and of our products and services
- Engage with customers and stakeholders as an advocate of library services.
Qualifications
first degree or postgraduate qualification in library and information studies, information science or librarianship
