We currently have a vacancies in our children’s home in Worcestershire (rated Ofsted Good). We also have vacancies in our new Children’s Home opening in Birmingham B25.

Our shift hours are 07:00 - 22:30 (and sleep-in). The shift pattern is 2 day on and 4 days off.

Rates/salary:

  • Salary of £28,240 - £29, 560 per year (basic salary inclusive of sleeps)
  • Overtime hourly rate of £13.81 to £14.29
  • Enhanced hourly rate (selective days) of £17.31 to £17.79
  • Sleep-in rate of £55 per sleep-in (average sleeps 4-6 per month. Additional sleep-in opportunities available)
  • Birthday off and paid (value of £200 to £250)
  • £500 attendance bonus (paid in December’s pay)
  • £150 bonus for successfully completing probation period
  • Weekend standby incentive of £40 per day
  • Overtime, Enhanced and Standby opportunities between 2 homes
  • Travel allowance of £720 per year (£60 per month) if you live outside 8.5 miles radius

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Safeguarding young people
  • Providing physical, emotional, behavioural and cultural support to children
  • Contribute to the normal development of the young people through the provision of a healthy lifestyle, a variety of appropriate activities and a consistent caring adult role model
  • Assisting with daily routines and tasks such as cooking and cleaning
  • Maintaining accurate and clear record keeping, and complete administrative duties as designated by the Registered manager/deputy and/or senior support staff
  • The requirement to sleep overnight at the home
  • Work flexibly, which includes office hours, early morning and late nights, regular weekend hours & bank holidays

Experience and qualifications:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification). Applicants that do not have a Level 3 will be enrolled and required to work towards this qualification within a fixed timeframe.
  • Experience working with children and young people
