Alethiomics Ltd is a discovery stage biotech company harnessing the power of single cell multi-omic technology to discover and develop life changing treatments for patients with blood cancer. A spin-out from the University of Oxford, Alethiomics was co-founded in 2021 by Prof. Adam Mead and Prof Bethan Psaila, both academic clinicians and expert haematologists. The company is supported by life sciences investor Oxford Science Enterprises. The Role

A key member of scientific team the Program lead - ADC development will develop and lead Alethiomics Research and Development strategies into optimisation of our antibody drug conjugate molecules. Reporting directly to the CDO, this role will focus on early discovery and pre-clinical design, evaluation and selection of ADCs for IND enabling studies and beyond.

The successful candidate will bring strong scientific and technical expertise within oncology and ADC design and be well-informed of the current developments in ADC design and clinical developments. They will have a proven track-record of successful advancement of assets from early discovery to clinic.

Required education & experience

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial or academic research setting.
  • Experience in developing biologic therapeutics, preferably in an oncology setting and with antibody drug conjugates.
  • Track record of taking molecules from pre-clinical discovery, through IND enabling studies and into first-in-man studies.
  • Strong scientific background, educated to a Ph.D. level within a life sciences discipline allied to an ability to critically evaluate scientific data and communicate to colleagues.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships and have effective collaborations with CRO and academic groups.

  • Function Reports to Chief Scientific Officer

Main areas of responsibility

  • Development of Alethiomics’ strategy for progressing pre-clinical molecules through to clinical trials. This will involve identification of key studies and partner organisations in one or more of the following areas:

o Optimisation of ADC design for efficacy and safety leading to selection of candidate drug.

o Design and prosecution of candidate nomination and IND enabling studies.

o CMC process, manufacture and quality assurance.

  • Work alongside senior management team and founders to identify strategies for optimising candidate molecules the design of both IND enabling and clinical studies.
  • Oversee project governance to ensure that timelines and budgets match expectations, identify where risks and deviations occur and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Identify and act as a point of contact for CROs engaged to perform studies supporting our development programmes.

Areas of support

  • Identify areas of opportunity for external collaborations to build the execute discovery strategy.
  • Act as a mentor for junior members of staff and encourage their development.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From £70,000.00 per year
