About the role
The Head of Delivery for Development is responsible for overseeing the delivery of development projects and change requests across the organization, ensuring alignment with the strategic targets and roadmaps defined by the IT director and business leaders. This role ensures the successful execution of projects, driving operational excellence, and meeting business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the IT director, peers, and developer managers to align project delivery with the organization’s strategic roadmap and technical roadmaps;
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery lifecycle of projects, from initiation to closure, ensuring adherence to established methodologies and processes;
- Manage project portfolios, allocating resources effectively and optimizing delivery capacity based on strategic priorities set by leadership;
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery practices, processes, and tools, fostering a culture of agility and efficiency;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as technologies, engineering, and operations, to ensure seamless integration and alignment;
- Monitor project performance through metrics and reporting, identifying risks and issues, and implementing corrective actions;
- Ensure effective stakeholder management and communication, keeping key stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle;
- Champion the adequate delivery methodologies, promoting best practices and driving adoption across the organisation;
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the delivery function
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience in managing and delivering complex development projects in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and delivery processes;
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills;
- Ability to collaborate effectively with IT leadership, business stakeholders, developer managers and engineering teams;
- Proficiency in project management tools and techniques, including risk management, resource planning, and budget management;
- Experience in managing and developing high-performing teams, providing coaching and mentorship;
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions;
- Passion for continuous improvement and a customer-centric mindset.
