As part of the Engineering team there is a responsibility to carry out testing, servicing, and repair of both RTS owned rental equipment and 3rd party equipment ensuring this is undertaken in line with manufacturer’s specifications and tolerances.
Following the in-house test procedures in place, you will undertake a number of tasks in preparing subsea/surface equipment for rental or sale including equipment interfacing, maintenance, servicing and re-certification all of which will be required to meet specific project deadlines.
You will also be responsible for the testing, servicing and repairs of RTS 's specific product range namely the Gen5/6 Multiplexer systems.
You will be responsible for ensuring this is carried out in an organized and timely manner with particular focus in maintaining the high-quality standards RTS have in place.
Responsibilities
- Testing/interfacing and fault finding of electronic survey equipment.
- Electronic repairs including PCB work, connector replacements.
- Subsea cable assembly and cable harness re-terminations.
- Calibration of specific subsea/surface equipment to tolerances and specifications outlined by manufacturer.
- Accurate creation and documenting of equipment test sheets and calibration certificates.
- Shipping to customers and manufacturers.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers as required.
- In field equipment support to customers as required - Inclusive of vessel mobilizations and short-term offshore project support.
- Remote based equipment support to customers as required - technical support on equipment failures, assistance with remote setup.
- Ensure the return of 3 party equipment repairs within agreed timescales.
- Work with the rest of the engineering team to monitor test/reference equipment calibration requirements ensuring this is organized in such a way that recertification results in minimal down time.
- Participate in equipment training courses as arranged as part of personal development.
- Perform other duties as and when required. Includes, but not limited to - maintaining tidy working areas both personal and communal, stock take, facility maintenance.
Experience and Qualifications
The following qualifications and experience are deemed desirable for the role:
- NC/HNC or equivalent in a relevant area; Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Systems
- Experience of working in a Global organization across multiple locations including offshore is beneficial but not a necessity.
- Minimum 2 years plus experience of testing/interfacing and fault finding of electronic survey equipment.
- Experience of PCB investigation, soldering, crimping, mechanical assembly
- Experience of calibration of equipment to manufacture tolerances & specifications.
- Solid experience of Microsoft Office suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Skills and Knowledge
- Knowledge of the full range of RTS’s owned and produced equipment is beneficial but not a necessity.
- Experience of maintaining equipment to the highest possible standards.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to work carried out.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills including customer support, internal discussion, report writing.
