React JS & React Native Front-End Developer (MUI) - Part-Time, Long-Term

We’re looking for a skilled Front-End Developer with solid experience in React JS, Material UI (MUI), and React Native to join our team on a part-time, ongoing basis.

The initial focus will be optimising our web application for mobile use. Once that’s complete, you’ll lead the development of our native mobile app using React Native.

Role Overview

You’ll be working on a modern web platform that supports students, schools, and families with complex travel and logistics. Your focus will be on building and refining front-end features using React JS and Material UI, helping us deliver polished, intuitive experiences to thousands of users.

This is ongoing work with flexibility. We’re looking for someone to work alongside us as our platform grows.

What You 'll Do

• Build and improve front-end components using React JS and Material UI (MUI)
• Lead the development of the native mobile application using React Native
• Collaborate with designers and backend developers
• Ensure responsive design and a smooth UX across desktop and mobile
• Improve performance, accessibility, and front-end consistency

What We 're Looking For

• 5+ years of proven experience with React JS, delivering responsive and scalable front-end solutions
• 5+ years of proven experience building mobile apps using React Native, including apps published to iOS and/or Android stores
• Strong knowledge of Material UI (MUI) and styled components for consistent design systems
• Hands-on experience with React Hooks, state management (Context or Redux), and form handling (e.g., React Hook Form, Yup)
• Proven experience integrating with REST APIs and managing async workflows
• A portfolio or examples of previous React and React Native projects

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £35.00-£40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week
