Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Bank Maintenance Operative to support the upkeep and compliance of our office and warehouse facilities. This role requires a proactive individual with a broad range of maintenance skills, ensuring the building remains safe, functional, and compliant with all regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Building & Facilities Maintenance:

  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs across the office and warehouse.
  • Inspect and maintain building infrastructure, including plumbing, electrics, wiring, and lighting.
  • Perform general handyman duties, including minor construction and repair work.

Compliance & Safety Checks:

  • Conduct fire door inspections and ensure they meet compliance standards.
  • Perform fire alarm and emergency lighting checks to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Carry out routine Legionella water temperature checks.
  • Complete scheduled fire safety checks, including extinguishers and evacuation routes.
  • Ensure all building and office maintenance compliance checks are carried out and documented.
  • Action and maintain inspection reports to ensure all maintenance, health & safety, and compliance requirements are met.

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

  • Identify and report any hazards or risks within the premises.
  • Support the implementation of health and safety policies.
  • Ensure workplace safety procedures are followed in accordance with regulations.
  • Maintain records of all compliance and health & safety checks for auditing purposes.

Requirements

  • Electrical and plumbing qualifications (must provide valid certification).
  • Proven experience in maintenance, facilities management, or a similar role.
  • Understanding of compliance checks, including fire safety and Legionella.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and respond to urgent maintenance issues.
  • Ideally, own insurance to cover maintenance work.
  • NIC EIC approved for electrical work

Additional Information:

  • This is a bank/ad-hoc role, meaning work will be scheduled as needed.
  • Flexibility is required to cover urgent maintenance requests.
  • A proactive and hands-on approach is essential for this role.
