International Food Link are recruiting Pick/Pack Operative to join our team at our warehouse in Heybridge, Nr Maldon, Essex. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager and shift Leader the Pick/Pack operatives will maintain strong working relationships with the warehouse fulfilment team, operate within the day-to-day Pick/Pack operation of the warehouse. Ensure the picking & packing of Customer Orders within the agreed timeframe.
Shift: 4 on 4 off 7am-7pm Days

About the role:
- Accurate picking and safe packing of customer orders.
- Uses technology, including PC, smartphones/handheld devices, to sort, scan, label and prepare orders.
- Surveys items for possible damage or defects before shipment.
- Handles, installs, positions, and moves materials to optimize inventory and meet customer orders. Some heavy lifting may be a requirement.
- Operates automated, computerized picking and packing systems.
- Requisitions merchandise from suppliers based on available space, inventory, or customer demand.
- Keeps products separated, organized, and in good rotation.
- Follows health and safety protocols and reports problems to mitigate safety issues.
- Operates various pieces of equipment, such as palletizers, dolly loaders, pallet wrappers.
- Utilizes a continuous improvement mindset and assists in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- Stocks shelves and racks with new or transferred merchandise and maintains products in an organized manner to facilitate inventory and shipping processes.
- Maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
- Following / Monitoring HACCP control points and food safety checks throughout all processes
- Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
Personal Specification
- You have previous experience within a warehousing environment
- You have ideally worked within the food ideally
- You are well organised, being able to prioritise work and working within key deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- You have the ability to work thoroughly, methodically with an excellent attention to detail;
- You can work collaboratively with other members of the team as well as key stakeholders across the group;
- You have the natural ability and enjoy building and maintaining strong working relationships;
- You excel with a team environment as well as being able to work autonomously when required;
- You are flexible, adaptable, and open minded and respond well to the ever-changing priorities and challenges while remaining calm and focussed on getting the job done;
- You are proactive looking at ways to improve processes and have the initiative to put them forward and where possible into practice;
- You actively seek ways to enhance your knowledge and improve your performance; and
- You are self-motivated, have huge drive and ambition - you thrive off achieving great success and helping to build a great place to work!
