As a General Manager - Designate , you will be a pivotal part of our leadership team, providing operational support and stepping into General Manager roles as required. You will oversee day-to-day dealership operations, ensuring performance, customer satisfaction, and profitability targets are met. This role is ideal for an experienced leader ready to take on full GM responsibilities when needed while supporting multiple locations across the business.

Salary £84,000 OTE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Relationship: To take responsibility for the active management of all customer relationships matters.
  • Revenue Generation & Profit Performance: To maximise Sales and Aftersales departmental revenues and profit margins in excess of the business plans and to actively seek and deliver new business opportunities.
  • Motivating the Team: To set the vision and objectives and keep the team updated with progress toward them. To lead the strategy and incentivise colleagues to achieve their objectives and recognise/reward then when they do so.
  • Performance Management: To ensure your management team actively set individual targets, continuously monitor colleague’s performance and provide first class coaching, support and training to support this.
  • Manufacturer Relationship & Standards: To professionally and effectively manage the franchise relationship with the manufacturer and exceed all related standards. To ensure all manufactures targets are actively negotiated, managed and communicated to the team.

This role reports into the Sales Director but will be expected to work closely with all departments to foster positive team relationships.

As a successful General Sales Manager:

  • You must have excellent communication skills to communicate credibly with our customers, colleagues and senior management, along with the ability to hit targets and constantly strive to “achieve more”
  • You must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment recognising individual responsibility to contribute to the performance and success of the team. You will have an understanding of the needs of others and a willingness to go the extra mile
  • You will have the ability to keep up-to-date with complex information, proven selling skills and good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • You will be good with administration, diary management and following up within agreed timeframes
  • You will have a passion for customer service, have a process orientated approach and be professional and well-presented.
  • You will possess excellent motivating and team-building skills as well as the ability to be a team player
  • Effective time management and flexibility in working patterns is needed
  • A full valid, UK driving licence is essential
