This is a unique opportunity to join the Data & Analytics Division of The London Stock Exchange Group as the Programme Management Office (PMO) Director at a time of growth and development. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Transformation of the Division within the Chief Operating Office and will also work closely with key stakeholders across the business units within D&A, and across other functions of LSEG, especially the Group Transformation Management Office (TMO) within LSEG Operations / Finance. He/she will also play a pivotal role in managing the central co-ordination of the LSEG - Microsoft Strategic Partnership, which is LSEG’s flagship and industry-leading co-innovation and cloud transformation programme.

The PMO Director will take the lead role in managing the central D&A Transformation agenda across a £400m annual investment portfolio, including portfolio oversight, governance, risk, financials, reporting and tooling. He/she will work with senior business stakeholders (typically C-level -1), Group Transformation PMO and Finance to ensure robust execution against the Group Change Framework. The role will manage a team of around 10 FTE across the UK, Poland and India.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive and implement the PMO service offering across D&A, working with the Head of D&A Transformation and other key stakeholders to ensure that investments and initiatives align with organisational strategy and priorities
  • Co-ordinate the LSEG Microsoft Partnership (LMP) central activities, liaising with Microsoft programme partners and LSEG stakeholders to ensure seamless co-ordination, information flow and issue escalation into Board Committees, Quarterly Business Reviews, Monthly Execution Boards and Exco updates.
  • Own project management methodology, templates, toolsets, governance, and quality assurance to maintain standards and drive continuous improvement for D&A - works in collaboration with the Group Transformation Management Office as required
  • Own and manage the financial reporting for the D&A Portfolio in conjunction with the Finance Business Partner, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial performance, budget tracking, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making and effective portfolio management
  • Operationalise the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) framework ensuring that all programmes consistently follow a best practice product development framework to bring new products and enhancements rapidly, efficiently and safely to market.
  • Manage the portfolio pipeline to ensure an efficient flow of activity, working with the Head of D&A Transformation to develop resourcing strategies that ensure optimum support for short and long-term portfolio needs
  • Lead holistic portfolio health and reporting, tracking and reducing delivery risk at a programme and portfolio level, working with Transformation Management Office to streamline and automate reporting
  • Manage the change and product roadmaps, orchestrating dependency management and cross-portfolio communications to ensure transparency and accountability
  • Engage with senior management on portfolio issues through D&A Portfolio Board to ensure streamlined decision making and clear accountabilities across the wider organisation
  • Direct line management of c10 direct reports, aligning with the LSEG performance management framework

Skills and experience

  • Extensive previous PMO experience in a portfolio, project or programme management environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, presenting and relationship management skills at all levels of the organisation, including C-level stakeholders and 3rd parties
  • Proven experience developing and implementing a Program Management / Change Framework
  • Strong understanding of performance management frameworks and tools in the delivery of business objectives
  • Proven ability to manage / develop a high performing team
  • Capability to run and assure core project management disciplines around delivery status management, RAID management, financial reporting and forecasting, reporting and outcome / OKR management
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching of broader Transformation Leadership Team and business project teams to effectively implement the Change Management Framework and PMO processes
  • Thought leader in terms of developing new ways of working, frameworks and processes that will underpin our goal of creating a world-class PMO service
  • Degree (or equivalent) and relevant professional qualification
  • Proficiency in Powerpoint and Excel to Advanced level
