About Us: Our Rugby facility specialises in the repair, rewind, refurbishment, and retrofitting of rotating electrical machines (AC/DC motors and generators) ranging from 415V to 22kV. We offer specialised upgrades, as well as repair services for both static and rotating mechanical plant systems and their associated excitation control systems.

The Role …
Due to continued growth, Quartzcoil are now seeking an Apprentice Coil Operator to drive high standards of work and Continuous improvement in process and quality whilst working as part of the Quartzcoil production team.
Responsibilities …
Responsibilities and Duties may include:
- Work safely and attentively at all times
- Fully adhere to quality procedures with a right first-time approach
- To participate in the apprentice programme with motivation and conscientious rotating through the business unit to experience all aspects of the coil manufacturing processes.
- Fully buy into a continuous improvement culture
- Attending lectures, practical sessions, and visits as per training provider learning plan
- To complete and pass all assignments by deadline set
- To attend the workplace during non-term time
- Always adhere to company policies and procedures
Your key responsibilities and accountability on completion of your apprenticeship may include:
- Ability to manufacture a wide range of coils, which means:
- Producing Components using Hand Fitting Techniques & machinery
- Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and work instruction
- Have basic measurement skills, tape measure, micrometre, Vernier calliper and go no go gauge
- Ability to work on own initiative or part of a team
- Show drive, enthusiasm and be motivated to succeed with willingness to take ownership

By joining Quartzcoil you will become part of a team that is a nationwide & international service provider.
This is a 15 month apprenticeship resulting in a Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations. The programme will be spent learning core practical and theoretical elements of the role attending 1 day per week at Northampton college.
Candidate Requirements:
We are looking for motivated and ambitious individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Academic Requirements: GCSEs (or equivalent), with minimum grade 3 in Maths and English or functional skills level 1
- Passion for Engineering: A genuine interest in the engineering field, particularly in the rotating machinery and manufacturing sector.
- Willingness to Learn: A strong desire to develop both practical and academic skills and contribute to the success of the team.
Qualifications Attained Through This Apprenticeship:
Upon completion of this apprenticeship, you will have gained the following qualifications:
- Diploma in engineering operations (skills) Level 2
- Certificate or Diploma in engineering operations (Knowledge) Level 2
