THE ROLE
A Field-based sales / BDM role spanning selected geographical locations in Northern Ireland in the pursuit of new business.
This role will require a hybrid professional with experience and ability to meet customers face to face, as well as operate effectively while working remotely. This role requires self-generation of leads, so applicants must be comfortable proactively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
The purpose of this role is to develop and deliver new acquisition business opportunities, selling the full range of FTZ products to business customers throughout Northern Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Key function is to discuss multiple FTZ products with business customers via self-generated and desk-based appointments booked.
- Acquire referrals at every available opportunity.
- Develop and self-generate leads using numerous methods.
- Prospect and attend B2B Networking Events when required.
- Present proposals and negotiate contacts with clients.
- Identify, develop and close sales through sustained prospecting and activity.
- Key focus on the sale of mobile telephony services, VOIP and connectivity products for our valued and prospective NI customers.
- Achieve new business / acquisition targets which will lead to the opportunity to work with existing / customer renewals.
- Exceeding individual targets and contributing to overall sales team targets.
- Develop strong internal and external relationships delivering solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Keeping up to date with market developments and trends, ensuring you are passionate and put the interests of the customer, our partner networks and the business first.
- Collaborate with and support the Sales Director, members of the desk team and your fellow field colleagues.
- Utilise CRM systems to track customer information, manage, forecast and develop sales opportunities and pipeline and for reporting purposes.
- Share best practice with peers and manager.
- Maintain an up-to-date sales / technical knowledge of FTZ Telecoms’ product portfolio as well as a good understanding of competitor capabilities.
- Deliver outstanding levels of customer service in line with the company vision.
- Project a professional impression of the Company
- Any other sales duties which the role may require.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a field-based business role, preferably VoIP / connectivity products (shortlisting criteria).
- Above experience to include hitting / exceeding sales targets (shortlisting criteria)
- A full valid Driving licence to enable you to carry out the duties of the role (shortlisting criteria)
- Excellent communication skills (including written communication) and a professional, consultative approach
- Highly organised, self-motivated and target driven
- Confident and excellent at objection handling

You’ll have the following skills & experience
- Be tech savvy. In addition, a good understanding of IT / MS Office / email is desired.
- Confident to interact with customers face to face and via phone. Confidently and competently able to communicate via email / in the digital space.
- Someone who takes the initiative, has a high-quality work ethic.
- Hold others to account: Understands expectations and manages themselves to high ethical and values standards.
Desired Criteria:
- 2+ years’ Experience in a field-based business role, preferably VoIP / connectivity products / Cloud products (Desirable shortlisting criteria)
- Experience in utilising CRM systems to capture information, manage sales pipelines and opportunities (Desirable shortlisting criteria)
- Experience in face to face meetings / calling at director level / senior manager level.
- Sound business acumen and understanding of business strategy. Understanding of KPI’s.
