Make a Real Impact: Manager in Built Environment at RNIB
Join RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People) and play a vital role in creating a more inclusive and accessible world for people with sight loss. We’re seeking a seasoned and skilled Manager to join our Inclusive Design practice to help lead our Built Environment proposition.
About the Role:
As a Manager and subject matter expert in the Built Environment, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success and growth of our Inclusive Design consultancy practice. You will lead client engagements and provide expert guidance and development to Consultants under your leadership and direction. Your deep understanding and subject matter expertise will empower organisations to create accessible services and environments driving meaningful change for people with disabilities including those with sight-loss.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Client Leadership : Lead client engagements, acting as the primary point of contact and ensuring the delivery of high-quality consultancy services.
- Strategic Consulting : Provide expert advice and guidance to clients, helping them to embed accessibility and inclusivity into their organisational culture and practices.
- Project Management : Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Team Leadership : Manage, guide, and support your team members, fostering their professional development and ensuring their success as well as that of the practice as a whole.
- Business Development : Identify and pursue new business opportunities, contributing to the growth and sustainability of the consultancy practice.
- Thought Leadership : Represent RNIB and the Inclusive Design Function at industry events, conferences, and workshops, sharing insights and expertise.
- Innovation : Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies, identifying opportunities to enhance the consultancy’s offerings and impact.
- Practice Development : Continuously look to improve tooling, methodologies, best-practices to enhance the quality of work and impact delivered by you and your teams.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- Degree or Higher Education in a relevant field i.e Built Environment, Architecture etc.
- IAAP, CPABE Certified
- Extensive experience in accessibility and inclusivity consulting, with a proven track record of delivering successful client engagements.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Deep commitment to the principles of inclusive design and social justice.
