We are looking for a fabulous person to complete our wonderful team! You will be working one day a week, 9am to 7.15pm, with additional shifts on a relief basis. Ideally we would like someone with a driving licence
A friendly, sociable, fun and talkative lady with Learning Disabilities and Autism is looking for a part-time support worker to join her team of professional carers who provide one to one 24/7 high quality, person-centred support, including personal care in her own home.
As a team member your aim is to support this lady to live her life in a safe, independent and dignified way. We are looking for a professional who is committed to a person-centred approach and who appreciate the importance of facilitating appropriate choice and building skills and confidence. The position requires someone reliable and trustworthy however it is essential that they are also a friendly, kind and patient team member, conscious of maintaining safety and dignity for this lady.
The successful candidate will be joining a privately run service, consisting of a small team with structures in place to support, manage and facilitate positive change, enabling team members to contribute to the development of the service. You will have the ability to work under your own initiative and prioritise, however regular team meetings, supervision and training contribute towards establishing a successful working environment.
This lady loves being outdoors, and is encouraged to participate in light exercise that maintains and promotes good mobility. Activities may include going for picnics and long walks or going to the gym or swimming. Other activities may include going to her pottery class or cooking group, the odd shopping trip or a bit of gardening. In her downtime, this lady enjoys listening to music, working on jigsaws and crafts together, baking, helping with light chores or just having a good blether. Our aim is to create shift patterns with the minimum of change overs and disruptions to the client so when calling on the Relief Team our priority aim is to cover the vacant shift with just one Support Worker. Therefore, Flexibility is essential as is the ability to work longer/different shift patterns including sleepovers.
An enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) is required.
References required.
Driving licence desirable as a mobility car will be available.
