ABOUT THE CHARITY

ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for ESOL Teaching Assistants to help support our Rehabilitation and Reintegration Workshops for ethnic minority individuals on probation. The work will be in person, with sessions running three days a week across our West London locations. These workshops offer essential support, including ESOL classes, legal aid drop-in clinics, and sessions on healthcare, employability, and education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering FREE ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes to minority ethnic groups on probation.
- Provide resources alongside ACAA resources
- Teach classes of up to 20 students of varying capabilities
- Engage with participants and help them access vital education courses, further education
- Help set up, organise, and manage the space for each session, ensuring materials are available.
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience working with vulnerable communities is a plus, but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for teaching or community work.
- Flexibility and willingness to work across different boroughs depending on where you are places (Hounslow, Ealing, Hillingdon, Brent).
- Enthusiastic about supporting people on probation and those facing social and economic challenges.

Volunteer Commitments:
We are looking for volunteers to commit to 1-2 days a week. The hours are flexible, but we aim for sessions to run for 2 hours either mid-morning or afternoon.
All work will be in person, based at community centres throughout West London.
There may be the option of running online ESOL classes further down the line.
Location: West London, covering Hounslow, Ealing, Hillingdon, and Brent
Commitment: 1-2 days a week, in-person
