Chief Operating Officer - EMI and Payments
New Age RecruitmentAbout the job
About Us
We are an ambitious and rapidly expanding financial services group specialising in FX and payments. As we progress towards obtaining our FCA e-money license and our Canadian FINTRAC license, we seek a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer to join us at the group level. This pivotal role will drive operational excellence, oversee the EMI build-out, and ensure regulatory compliance as we prepare for full e-money institution status in multiple jurisdictions.
Role Overview
As COO, you will play a central role in developing our e-money services, particularly within FX and payments. You will have a strong focus on operational oversight–from implementing and optimising virtual IBAN solutions to managing end-to-end reconciliation processes–while ensuring compliance with both FCA and FINTRAC regulations. You’ll work closely with the senior leadership team to design and execute strategies that ensure efficient operations, seamless client experiences, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operational strategy for building out the EMI in line with FCA e-money licensing requirements.
- Oversee the development and implementation of virtual IBAN solutions, managing workflows to ensure effective reconciliation and settlement processes.
- Develop and monitor key performance metrics, driving operational efficiency and optimising financial processes.
- Collaborate with compliance and risk management to ensure ongoing adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Drive process improvements and automation within the FX and payments infrastructure, enhancing operational scalability.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to support our growth objectives and maintain excellent client service standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience in a senior operational role within FX, payments, or financial services, ideally with a focus on EMI or FCA-regulated institutions.
- Strong understanding of virtual IBAN provision, reconciliations, and payments operations.
- Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and optimise operational processes within a regulated environment.
- Excellent leadership skills, with a track record of building high-performing teams and fostering collaboration across departments.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and licensing processes within the UK financial services sector, particularly FCA e-money licensing.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a hands-on approach to operational management.
Why Join Us?
This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking group at a transformative time. You will play a critical role in shaping our operational landscape and contributing to our ambitious growth plans. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, a collaborative work environment, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on the future of the company.
