About you:

We are looking to recruit passionate Support Worker’s, on a permanent basis, for our existing services supporting adults with Learning Disabilities (age range 20 - 80). Contracts available:

We are currently recruiting for 3 x 38 hour per week vacancies- all roles include sleep in duties.

Roles will include a mixture of shifts Monday - Sunday, daytime, evenings, weekends (working every other weekend) and sleep-in duties in accordance with the needs of the service.

Key Role and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the creation of a warm, friendly, and relaxed atmosphere.
  • In accordance with the individuals support plan, to support service users in all aspects of their daily lives in a positive and caring manner, ensuring that dignity, respect, choice, independence, inclusion, equal opportunities, and privacy are always maintained.
  • Ensure that service users are given the opportunities to develop their maximum potential, helping to set and support with achieving personal aims and goals.
  • To participate in the Key Worker system and be allocated to act as keyworker to individual Service Users.
  • Planning and taking part in activities with Service Users, such as - bowling, swimming, shopping, meals out, cinema, holidays and much more!
  • Cooperate with senior members of the team, providing an optimum level of support with agreed duty rotas including night duty and sleep in arrangements.
  • Participate in a team approach to encompass the varied activities regarding housekeeping, e.g., catering, shopping, laundry, and other household duties as required.
  • To ensure a person-centred approach and participate in the regular evaluation and review of support plans and supporting documentation.
  • Medication handling and administration - appropriate to each individual service user.
  • To participate in any training and development courses as required.
  • Participate in 3 monthly supervision and annual appraisals.

Hours - Roles will include a mixture of shifts Monday - Sunday, daytime, evenings, weekends (working every other weekend) and sleep-in duties in accordance with rota system.

Responsible to - Registered Manager/Senior Team Leader/Team Leader

Hourly rate - £12.60 per hour Monday - Friday and £13.00 per hour Saturday/Sunday, plus an additional flat sleep in rate of £53.20. Bank Holiday rate - £18.90 per hour.

A full driving licence / access to a vehicle would be beneficial for this role. Although not essential.

  • Home care: 2 years (required)
