Women’s Support Worker
Hours of Work: 35 per week (excluding unpaid lunch break)
Salary: £29,093 pa

Purpose of the post
The purpose is to provide a range of information, advocacy and face to face support services to women that access our service independently or by referal, and to deliver this service within our office premises.
- Provide support and information by telephone or in person.
- Work with women to identify their needs, goals and to make informed choices.
- Undertake support planning and risk assessment in consultation with women and carry out regular reviews.
- Refer to or advocate iwth relevant agencies and services.
- Assess the suitability of refuge accommodation on an individual basis.
- Provide assistance with applications for benefits, grants as part of the support plan.
- Update our database system daily with all contact and the nature of the support.
- Participate in the delivery of an on-call service to refuge residents.
- Attend and participate in meetings as required.
- Promote the work of South Ayrshire Women’s Aid and the rights and needs of women, children and young people.
- To undergo any training necessary to carry out the functions of the post.
- To perform other duties from time to time as directed by the manager.
Qualification requirements - a relevant qualification at level 6 or above to meet registration requirements of the SSSC.
A full driving licence is required and the use of a car to enable travel throughout South Ayrshire.
This post is subject to membership of PVG scheme. Women only need apply. This post is covered by a Genuine Occupational Requirement (Schedule 9; Equality Act 2010).
